Company History
Founded in 1984 by Mr. John Camacho, Alpha initially provided specialized engineering services in water and wastewater projects for the Water and Sewage Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (WASA).
From 3 project engineers and 1 main client, the firm quickly grew into a diversified, multi-disciplined
organization gaining its experience through the successful completion of over 200 small and medium sized projects relating to land and infrastructure development, land-use planning, project management and construction management.
On John’s retirement in 2012, Alpha evolved into two corporate entities (Engineering and Design) with its full cadre of professional engineers and support staff, now operating in El Socorro, San Juan, while its sister company Alpha Construction continues to operate at the original location in Woodbrook, Port of Spain.
John remains an invaluable advisory resource to both companies. Over the years, it has been our mission to provide our Clients with timely,cost effective services tailored to meet the unique objectives of their projects. We do this by providing high quality craftsmanship in the construction industry at a very competitive cost and to achieve a greater reputation for quality and on-time delivery than our competitors in Trinidad and Tobago. Alpha’s key to success has been the development of the business including emphasis on client satisfaction, service diversification, consideration for business continuity planning, supply chain risk management and crisis management. These corporate objectives have allowed Alpha to grow from a small entity into one of the leading mid-size Engineering and Construction companies in Trinidad & Tobago.

Matthew Devaux
Managing Director
Matthew is a Civil Engineer with over sixteen (16) years experience in Engineering and Site Supervision. He joined the staff of Alpha Engineering & Construction Ltd in 2006 and brought with him resources of experience gathered over years engaged in engineering and site supervision for construction projects. He currently serves as one of Alpha’s Senior Project Managers on present projects.
Lynette Ramcharita
Director/ Quantity Surveyor
Lynette is a Quantity Surveyor with over forty (40) years experience in this field. Lynette manages all costs relating to building projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures and seeks to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality.
Elford Adams
Director/ Construction Manager
Ulric Adams has twenty-eight (28) years experience in Planning, Directing, coordinating, construction activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems and participation of conceptual development of a construction project and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation. He has the ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities and has wide variety of skills and knowledge, including plumbing, basic electrician training, standard construction techniques, blueprint reading, budgeting, and purchasing.
Hemraj (Roy) Bhagiratte
Director/ Construction Manager
Hemraj (Roy) has over twenty-seven (27) years experience in Construction Management. With his interpersonal relationship skills with Clients and Sub-Contractors, he has the ability to motivate and exact good work using and understanding the limits of the workers. Hemraj (Roy) oversees the delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment; worker productivity and safety; and is very thorough in carrying out inspections for quality of construction finishes.
